In planning your election, please take into account that starting your election involves several mutual steps, best divided along 30 days. These are the main steps of the recommended election plan timeline, called the Safevote Election Planner:

-30 days:	ORGANIZATION sends payment for election services.
-30 days:	ORGANIZATION defines the ELECTION MANAGER and AUDITOR.
-30 days:	ORGANIZATION and Safevote begin joint work.
-14 days:	ORGANIZATION sends data on election races.
-7 days:	ORGANIZATION sends data of eligible participants.
-5 days:	ORGANIZATION reviews and approves Election Site.
-2 days:	ORGANIZATION reviews and approves Election Ballot.
-1 day:	Election Site available for public use.
Day 0:	ORGANIZATION receives instructions on the "Provisional Registration" facility.
Day 0:	Election starts.
Day 0:	Safevote starts to provide DVCs™ (unique access codes) to eligible participants.
Day D:	Election ends. We suggest an election duration of two weeks.
D +1 day:	Safevote sends the voter list and election results.

One to three business days after the election ends, Safevote sends the voter list (with the names of all who voted) and the election results, in Microsoft Excel format. The entire election is audited before the Safevote election results are sent to the ORGANIZATION. An audit trail is preserved until at least 30 days after the election closes, for all election data.
